This morning, I had the opportunity to catch up with my friend Ross, someone who has spent years building and running his own sports brands business. We grabbed a coffee locally, went for a short walk and came back to his office to have a chat. As with many of the best conversations, our discussion wasn’t just about business—it was about something much deeper. We explored the connection between personal values and the outdoors, the importance of developing people, and how nature plays a crucial role in that journey. I really appreciate the time and the feedback that close friends are giving and sharing me along this journey.

Keith & Ross – February 2025
Ross had just returned from an incredible adventure, completing the Milford Track in New Zealand with his family. Four weeks of exploring a country, disconnecting from the constant noise, and reconnecting with what truly matters. As he described the experience—the breathtaking landscapes, the sense of accomplishment, and the quality time spent with loved ones—it reaffirmed something I’ve always believed: meaningful time with the people around us is invaluable.
In a world that often demands more speed, more output, and more distraction, we sometimes forget that real growth comes from stepping back, reassessing, and making space for connection. Whether it’s with family, friends, or colleagues, shared experiences create lasting impact. They provide perspective, fuel resilience, and remind us why we do what we do.
This conversation was a powerful reminder of why the work we do at K1 Performance is so important. Helping individuals and corporate teams carve out their own path to growth, resilience, and connection isn’t just a professional mission—it’s a personal one. Whether through leadership development, performance coaching, or wellness programs, the goal remains the same: to build stronger, more connected people who align with their values and environment.
Moments like these—genuine, reflective, and inspiring—are what keep me motivated. They remind me that leadership isn’t just about strategy; it’s about presence. It’s about who we choose to become and how we show up for the people around us.
Always grateful for these conversations and the lessons they bring. Cheers Ross!
