Sometimes, the best lessons come from unexpected places.

We had pulled off the road, away from the distractions of daily life, and found ourselves in conversation with a local farmer. He was only too happy to stop his work and talk. Not about business, not about problems—just about life.

He spoke about Jess, his 9-year-old sheepdog, still working the land with quiet determination. A dog that, despite age creeping in, knew its role, anticipated commands, and moved with purpose. He told us how Jess had been by his side for years, adapting, learning, always focused on the job at hand. She had been working with him from 6months old, he was amazed by her and said that his “new one” wasn’t quite as good as Jess.
